How to Prepare Your Home Before Shifting

Two weeks before

Book your movers, confirm dates with both societies, and inform your landlord or buyer. Start decluttering and collect important documents in one folder.

One week before

Update your address with your bank, gas agency and service providers. Arrange for internet and electricity transfer or new connections. Use up frozen food and pantry items.

Three days before

Pack non-essentials, confirm the moving slot and parking with your security team, and plan what your children and pets will do on moving day.

The day before

Defrost the fridge, pack your essentials bag, charge your phone and keep cash handy for small expenses.

Moving day

Walk through each room with the supervisor, check the inventory list, and do a final round of cupboards, lofts and balconies before the truck leaves.

At the new home

Check that everything on the inventory has arrived, point out where furniture should go, and unpack the kitchen and bedrooms first.
